The Selous Game Reserve covers more than 50,000 square kilometers across several regions of Tanzania. The park is part of the Unesco World Heritage and is home to almost all species. Elephants are represented in large numbers but of course also lions, hippos, various antelope species, leopards, black rhinos, and many other species. Selous is also one of the last refuges of endangered African wild dogs.
The Nyerere National Park or formerly known as Selous Game Reserve is only a 40-minutes flight away from Zanzibar. Your professional safari driver guide will meet and greet you at the Selous Game Reserve and during the game drives you will discover Tanzania's largest wildlife reserve. This one-day safari is a great way to spot amazing wildlife during your beach holiday in Zanzibar. An early morning start is well worth it, and you will be back at your hotel in the evening for dinner.
