Experience Voronezh - What to see and do

When it comes to Russian cities that combine tradition with modernity, look no further than Voronezh. One of the economic centers of Russia, Voronezh is the capital of the Voronezh Oblast (region) in Western Russia and has a population of over 1 million. Voronezh has played a role in Russian history, as it was here that Peter the Great built Russia's first naval fleet.

The city is split in two by a large 30 km long urban reservoir known as "the Voronezh Sea" by the locals, although most of the city's main cultural institutions, establishments, and districts are found on the west side of the Voronezh River. During a visit to the city, you can check out one of the city's several museums such as the Voronezh Regional Art Museum or cross the street to see the bronze statue of Peter the Great at Petrovskiy Skver Park.
