Until 1779, the beautiful castle park was only reserved for select members of the nobility. Only then did it become accessible to the public. Since then, these approximately 160 hectares have been used for recreation by the Viennese population. Walk with your guide through this charming complex, like the nobles did back then or like the Viennese population today, and learn more about its history and stories.
Begin the tour in the large patios, in front of the palace entrance. Then, move in the direction of the west gate, stopping in front of the carriage museum (only outside) and the former Sisi riding school, the beautiful Jugendstil tropical winter garden.
Next, walk back and stop at the Neptune fountain, the Roman Ruins, the obelisk, the Schönbrunn spring that gave the palace its name and as a last stop the Orangerie, the beautiful baroque winter garden, where the famous duel between Mozart and Salieri occurred.
