Located in the middle of the Tijuca Forest, Pico da Tijuca is Rio’s highest peak (1022m – 3353ft) and provides a view of almost the entire city. Before the hike, stop by the entrance of the national park to visit a gigantic and beautiful waterfall. The track starts at the idyllic Bom Retiro and lasts no more than an hour and a half. From there, you will have a wonderful view to most of Tijuca Forest’s landmarks as well as the Maracanã and Engenhão stadiums, Guanabara Bay and much more.
