Carved out of limestone in a lush forest setting, Damajagua Waterfalls are one of the Dominican Republic's lesser-known treasures. Fuel up for an adventure here with a fruit and coffee tasting session at a country home, then jump, swim and slide down seven natural waterslides at the thundering falls. A typical buffet lunch rounds off the action.
Things kick off with a visit to the countryside community of San Marcos, where you'll taste of locally-grown fruit and coffee in a family home. Then, get to know the island's all-important industries with a cigar-making demonstration and a visit to a wooden figurine factory where you can shop for souvenirs.
Once you arrive at Damajagua Waterfalls, the adventure really begins. Slip through natural chutes and tunnels, jump into natural pools and conquer all seven levels – each more daring the further you get. After the action comes to a close, there's a typical buffet lunch of local dishes served. There's also a half day option available, which takes you directly to the waterfalls.
