After an early pickup, you'll hear about the picturesque district of Para located south of Paramaribo. Look out for its savannah, forest, creeks, and rivers as you travel through. Drive past some Maroon villages plus learn about its' inhabitants and curious past. Glimpse at the railway line that ran between Paramaribo and Brownsweg during the colonial gold rush. At Lelydorp, feel the magic of the Neotropical Butterfly Park walking through and admiring the natural process from cocoon to butterfly transformation.
Then, stop at a place for a chance to purchase stunning carved objects handmade by the Maroons from tree trunks. Next, you'll stop at a recreational experience loved by the locals - Colakreek. You'll discover how it received its name by jumping in its cool and refreshing water naturally colored by its falling leaves. Indulge in the lunch included which served here and relax. On our way back to Paramaribo, enjoy a stop at the pottery at Meursweg where by foot you'll see the process of making pottery to complete the day.
