You will be picked up early in the morning from your hotel in Palenque and drive 2 hours with direction to the Bonampak Ruins. On the way, you'll stop to have a breakfast buffet and then continue with the visit to the ruins.
With your guide in the lead, learn about the Maya history at Bonampak. The preserved murals in Bonampak, dating back to 790 A.D., are worth the trip to Chiapas. Archeologists believe that Bonampak has the finest examples of classic Mayan frescoes. These murals introduced a different understanding of the Maya culture unseen in other archaeological sites.
Yaxchilan was a large urban center and the dominant power of the Usumacinta River during the Classic Era. To get there, we need to take a boat trip for 1 hour to arrive in Yaxchilan. You will have time to explore all the site for about 1.30 hours and then back to Frontera Corozal to take lunch.
