The inside story
Located a few miles north of Oxford is where you can find Blenheim Palace, one of the most stunning locations in the UK.
Home to the 12th Duke of Marlborough and the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, Blenheim Palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has an interesting and diverse history ready for you to discover.
This awe-inspiring masterpiece of Baroque architecture will leave you speechless. Marvel at the beauty of the interior, see some magnificent rooms such as the Green Writing Room, State Rooms, extravagant bedrooms, corridors and more. You can even go downstairs and see the iconic bell system used by the staff!
See the artwork and classy lighting embedded throughout the palace and let the place come to life thanks to exhibitions with photos, letters and diaries. There is also a Winston Churchill exhibition.
Stroll around Blenheim’s award-winning grounds and gardens, over 2000 acres! Look out for the Rose Garden, Lavender Garden, and Great Lake, an explosion of colours and nature and great for snapping a few photos. Ride the miniature train to the Pleasure Gardens, perfect for the whole family where you can find the Marlborough Maze, Butterfly House and adventure playground. There is also a cafe here if you’re feeling hungry.
As you enjoy your visit, keep an eye out for filming locations from famous films including James Bond and Harry Potter to name a few. You might even see Mr. Phoebus on his Victorian Penny Farthing Bike cycling around the grounds!
With events and different exhibitions on offer all year round, Blenheim Palace is the perfect day out!
