Wine tasting in Sardinia is an essential Italian experience. And on this tour, we've hooked up with one of the top family-owned wineries in Olbia. Visit the vineyard at Tenute Olbios and settle down to taste the wines produced here, matched with typical snacks.
Passing teeny, tucked-away villages and rugged mountain scenery, you'll travel into the Sardinian countryside to Tenute Olbios – a winery owned by three generations of the same family. An all-female affair, they're staying true to tradition while turning the wine world on its head.
A member of the team will show you around and explain how Tenute's ethos reflects in their winemaking methods. Get the lowdown on the history of Sardinian wine and find out about Olbian grape varieties such as Vermentino, Cabernet, Cannonau, Merlot and Bovale. Then comes the best bit – the tasting. Sample three of their finest red, white and roses, all paired with local cheeses, meats and breads.
