This two-day tour ticks off everything you've come to expect from Sri Lanka – from animal sanctuaries to ancient temples. Explore the walled city of Galle, visit a turtle hatchery and discover Yala National Park and Udawale elephant transit home.
Surrounded by the ocean, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Galle Fort is a peeling maze of streets dating back to the Dutch colonial era. There's also a trip to Koggala turtle hatchery, a conservation charity. You'll also be able to observe the made-for-Instagram southern tradition of stilt fishing. And there's also a visit to the Weherahena Viharaya temple that's fronted by a giant Buddha.
Over the two days, you'll also enjoy a safari in Yala National Park. As your 4x4 weaves through the grasslands, try to catch sight of sloth bears, leopards and crocodiles. And you'll also drop into Udawalawe elephant transit camp. Watch the calves being fed, and learn how they re-introduced to the wild.
