The inside story
Canyonlands National Park, located in the heart of southeast Utah's high desert, preserves the colorful canyons, buttes, mesas, and arches that have been carved out by the Colorado and Green rivers. The park was established in 1964 and attracts around 750,000 visitors per year.
The park is the largest in Utah that contains rock art of the Ancestral Pueblo people. Covering more than 337,000 acres, Canyonlands is made up of four districts, each offering a unique kind of experience and different opportunities for exploration and adventure.
