Discover the legends of Dendera and Abydos on this full-day cultural tour of land and people through its history with an Egyptologist.
Starting from meeting your Egyptologist, whilst traveling, you'll be provided with fresh water, juice and freshly made snacks called "Boksomat" that include rusks with cumin and sesame. Watch local Egyptian villages and green fields with farmers plowing, watering, planting, or harvesting. Admire, seeing children going to school or women going to the market to sell their products of cheese, butter and geese.
The first stop is Abydos Temple, 175km north of Luxor, to learn about the cult of Osiris. Then, explore Dendera Temple's dark chambers, underground passages and towering columns inscribed with hieroglyphics. You'll also hear the fascinating story of Goddess Hathor and why her temple stands on the edge of the desert as if awaiting her return.
