Rise early to the sound of the temple gong to witness Luang Prabang’s mystical ritual. Accompanied by an expert guide, you'll walk downtown to watch the daily procession of young Buddhist monks silently walking and collecting food in their bronze bowls as a demonstration of humility. Once you have met the rest of the group, your guide will be more than happy to show you the respectful way to interact with the monks and offer them food. Enjoy the rest of your morning with a stroll through Luang Prabang’s market and observe the locals haggling for fresh meat, fruit, and vegetables.
Your experience will proceed by visiting the temples of Wat Xieng Thong, and Wat Mai, as well as the Royal Palace, which nowadays is a National Museum. Follow your guide and climb 328 steps to the top of Mount Phousi to enjoy panoramic views of the city before tasting a traditional lunch served in a local restaurant. Hop aboard a boat and cruise up the orange-colored waters of the Mekong River to the Pak Ou Caves that host hundreds of statues of Buddha, that have been left by devotees.
