Ionian Star Island Hopping Cruise

Lefkas Island Discovery

Lefkas is bursting with beauty and history – and this panoramic tour gives you a great taste of both. You'll discover its best sights, with a guide bringing everything to life. Star turns include Faneromeni Monastery and the villages of Agios Nikitas and Vassiliki.Your adventure begins when we drive over a causeway and a drawbridge, passing by Santa Maura Castle. Covering a whole islet, the walls are the only intact part of this once strategic Venetian fortification. Next up is Faneromeni Monastery, which boasts great views over the capital and lagoon.Then we'll head along the west coast to Agios Nikitas. This gorgeous village slopes down towards the turquoise sea. It's an ideal spot for a coffee break and a gander in the shops. From here, visit Kathisma beach, where you'll have a couple of hours to swim, sunbathe and relax. Finally, drive to the south coast village of Vassiliki, watching the windsurfers in the bay while chilling at the harbour.

Lefakada Sunset Tour with Agios Nicolaos Monastery

Turn the wow-factor up to maximum on this sunset tour to one of the most scenic spots in the Ionian islands. You'll stop by a village famed for its honey, visit a monastery and watch the sunset by Doukato lighthouse on Cape Lefkatas. Yiannis, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘The original lighthouse was destroyed in the earthquake of 1953. The approach along the cape and the views from this stunning place will take your breath away. You can often see Kefalonia and Ithaca to the south.'First, you'll be whisked to the mountain village of Dragano, known across the island for producing the island's finest honey as well as excellent olive oil. We'll take a look around the village and then sample some of that famous honey at a tasting workshop. Heading south, we'll stop at the Monastery of Agios Nicolaos, overlooking the sea. Yiannis says, ‘In the little church, there's a colourful altarpiece dating from 1799, and an important icon of St Nicholas after which the monastery is named.'The nuns sell a few of their home-grown products so you can pick up some dried herbs, olives or preserves if you like. Next, it's on to our final stop at the tip of Cape Lefkatas where we'll stay to watch the sunset. Known locally as ‘Point of the Lady', after an ancient legend, this twisting peninsula is shaped like a lightning bolt, with cliffs on the west coast and views out to sea. You'll toast sundown with a glass of bubbly before setting off to a nearby taverna.
