Take part in a relaxing walking tour and discover all the secrets of Wawel Hill. Here, you'll see some of the most iconic sites in Krakow with the UNESCO-listed Royal Wawel Castle among the others. During this guided tour, you will learn more about the history and legends of this unique place.
You will start your tour at Kanoniczna Street, which is a great introduction to Medieval Krakow. You'll see the most expensive hotel in Krakow – the place which hosted e.g. HRH Prince Charles or President Bush. Next, you'll stop at the house of Jan Długosz – the legendary Polish historian, from where you'll enjoy a magnificent view over the panorama of Wawel Hill.
You'll go uphill, pass through the Arms Gate, stop by the monument of Tadeusz Kościuszko, one of the most important Polish heroes, and later see the Wawel Cathedral. The secrets of Polish kings and governors of the Wawel Castle (including e.g. Hans Frank during the Second World War) will be revealed in a place where they resided and governed–that is, in the arcaded courtyard with its numerous monuments originating from Renaissance. This is where you can experience the legendary Wawel chakra.
You'll continue in the direction of the Crypt of the Silver Bells, and further to the Austrian Hospital from where you will be able to see a beautiful panorama of Krakow if you are lucky enough to have clear sky – you can even see the Tatra Mountains. Next, you'll pass by Sandomierska Tower and go downhill through the Bernardyńska Gate straight into the arms of the Wawel Dragon and his cave.
