Probably the most famous town on the Garden Route, Knysna is a natural paradise of lush, indigenous forests, tranquil lakes and golden beaches. Formerly the center of the timber industry, it still has several shops specialising in woodwork and traditional furniture. All the shops line on the main street of Knysna, actually a part of the N2 highway, which passes directly through the centre of the town en route to the Eastern Cape and beyond. Knysna offers an eclectic mix of attractions and activities. With its beaches, lakes, mountains and rivers, this town provide endless opportunity for leisure and outdoor adventure. But if you prefer to explore the city, the craft shops, flea-markets and cozy cafés beckon this town with a charming and welcoming small-town atmosphere.
