Journey to the Mekong Delta area to see the agricultural heartland of Vietnam. Cruise down the Mekong, visit a bee farm, row a sampan down a canal, snack on tropical fruit, and see how the people live outside of Ho Chi Minh City.
Your tour starts with a 2.5-hour ride to the city of My Tho, a former naval base that is now a bustling port city in the Mekong Delta. You'll then board a private boat for a cruise on the Mekong River. Your first stop is at a fish farm, to gain insights into one of the core industries in the region.
You'll also visit an island with lush tropical gardens where you'll have the chance to sample tropical fruit. Continuing to another island in the Mekong Delta, you'll learn more about coconut candy: your guide will take you to a factory and explain how this sweet treat is made. Your Mekong discovery tour continues on with a visit to a bee farm by Xe Loi (motorized cart), from where you'll transfer to a smaller rowing boat to get deeper into the smaller canals of the Delta.
For lunch, you'll hit up Vuon Dau restaurant, where your local guide will provide you with some advice on the finer local cuisine. After lunch, you'll head back to My Tho for the journey back to Ho Chi Minh City where you will be dropped off at your hotel.
