What to expect

Lobos Island is a natural treasure waiting to be explored. Located north of Fuerteventura, this islet is renowned for its uniqueness and unusual landscape. Unlike other coastal areas, Lobos offers a raw and authentic beauty, and here you'll find the beaches with less wind and waves compared to Fuerteventura.

After a short 20-minute boat ride from Corralejo. Upon arrival, you'll be welcomed by a statue of Josefina Plá, the Spanish writer, poet, and essayist born on the island, located next to the Visitor Center. To many, Lobos Island feels like a world of its own, with its dry, volcanic, and rugged landscape. As there are no shops on the island, remember to bring food, water, sunscreen, and anything else you'll need for a day in this sun-soaked environment.

The path to El Puertito, an old fishing village near a white sand beach, is to the right of the harbor. To the left lies the island's only beach, "La Concha," perfect for swimming or sunbathing. For a more adventurous experience, you can hike to the top of "La Caldera," the island's highest peak, which takes around 1 hour and 30 minutes for the round trip. If you wish to explore the entire island, the walk will take about 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Rest assured that the management of the entry authorization to Lobos Island is included, ensuring a worry-free experience. The premium option offered here includes the supplier's responsibility for ordering an authorization pass to the island of Lobos, from the government web page.

Ajuy and Las Peñitas Walking Tour with Picnic

Everything that makes the western highlands of Fuerteventura special comes together on this walking tour. Your guide will lead you through one of the island's greenest areas and barren landscapes with a Wild West feel, all the way to the fishing village of Ajuy – and there's a few hidden surprises on this well-known route. Fernando, one of our insider guides, says ‘Every year, on the third Saturday of September, thousands of islanders dressed in traditional Canarian costume pilgrimage through the gorge to worship Fuerteventura's patron saint.'Discover off the beaten track parts of Fuerteventura as you embark on foot, crisscrossing valleys from the hamlet of Vega de Rio Palmas to the hermitage of Las Peñitas. There'll be plenty of photo stops and the chance to rest in the shade under one of the many date trees which dot the route. Thanks to the surrounding sea of green vegetation and otherworldly rock formations, locals refer to the area as the ‘Oasis of Fuerteventura'. Film fans, though, can spot it in one of the scenes from the Marvel movie, The Eternals.Continue the trail along a gorge towards the coast and we'll reach the wave washed Ajuy. This remote village is famed for its sea caves, which you'll get time to explore along with its black volcanic beaches. Stroll along the shore at El Jurado and treat your feet to a dip in the refreshing water of the Atlantic. We'll tuck into a well-deserved picnic before heading back.
