This day out takes you to Wiesbaden – one of the oldest spa towns in Europe, known for its natural hot springs. After meeting your guide at the ship, you’ll travel by bus to the town. When you arrive, you’ll set off on a guided tour of the Henkell sparkling wine cellar, where you’ll learn all about the history of this much-loved tipple and how it’s made. See inside the impressive cellars, which are spread over seven floors and house around 200,000 barrels. And of course, you’ll get to taste a few varieties for yourself. Next, you’ll hop back on the bus for a whistle-stop tour of Wiesbaden city centre. You’ll see the city’s not short of grand buildings, from the oldest casino in Germany to St Elizabeth’s Church, a Russian Orthodox building crowned with gold domes. You’ll also pass by one of the most elegant spas in Europe, boasting 22 hot water fountains, before heading back to the ship.
