The inside story
Located in Los Glaciares National Park, Perito Moreno is considered the eighth wonder of the world because of the spectacular view it offers.
In fact, the imposing mass of ice surrounded by endless forests and mountains is a spectacle that few want to miss. Along with Puerto Madryn and the Iguazú Falls, it is one of the most visited sites in Argentina.
The Perito Moreno Glacier and other glaciers in the National Park form the Pentagonal Continental Ice (17,000 kilometers): one of the most important reserves of drinking water in the world. 90% of the world's freshwater is found in glaciers, and after Antarctica and Greenland, Argentina follows as the top supplier.
This place is ideal to enjoy fresh air and the sound of silence, which is broken only with the movement of the glacier, which constantly gives immense ice blocks to the lake. When these blocks fall into the Iceberg Channel, they produce a deep, shuddering crash.
