Meet your tour guide at the fountain in front of Hotel Gellert, and head inside the Rock Church. Enjoy a guided tour inside the church to see its rich interior decorated with sculptures and wooden carvings. Afterwards, admire views of the city as you head up the hill.
After 10 minutes climbing you will reach the peak of the hill where you will find the impressive Liberty Statue, formerly a Soviet Communist monument). Admire the amazing view from the lookout terrace in front of the statue.
Next, arrive at the Citadella fortress, built in the middle of the 19th century by the Austrian empire to keep the rebellious Hungarian city under control.
The last part of the tour comprises a downhill walk on the Northern slope of the hill. Explore a hidden treasure in the middle of the forest: the Philosophers' Garden. The garden is home to statues of the most influential thinkers in human history, and offers a perfect place for meditation. At the end of the tour you will see a 500 year-old Turkish Bath, and walk along the Danube from Elisabeth Bridge to Liberty Bridge. The tour will end at the starting point.
