Bonn was once the seat of government and the capital of the Federal Republic of Germany. There the center of power and decision-making was one of the two German states, which belonged to different opposing social and alliance systems. Each side tried to obtain information about the intentions of the other side through espionage, eavesdropping and wiretapping in order to gain an advantage from this knowledge. And so there was also the war of the secret services and spies in the "Cold War".
