You will meet at Bear Plaza (Baerenplatz) next to the Prison Tower (Kaefigturm). There you will taste an unconched chocolate from the Emmental area. You will then follow the traces of the Bernese bear in the old town, which will lead you through Bern's chocolate history. Matching chocolates will accompany the story.
Everyone will be given a selection of the award-winning chocolates at a local manufacturer's store. On the way, you will also learn about the conching technique and thus also the Bernese version of the melting chocolate story.
The sweet traces of the Bernese bear will finally end at the Bear Park, where the real bears live. After the tour, you will decide for yourself whether Bern was once a chocolate capital or whether this is just a marketing claim.
