Back down in the city, your next stop is the Argan cooperative. Try not to be intimidated by its 6,000 shops and stalls – it's a labyrinth, but your local guide is your superpower here. At 1,160 metres above sea level, it marks the beginning of the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. You'll spend plenty of time here, checking out the cascading waterfalls, steep, rocky valleys and terraced hillsides – trust us, you won't be short of somewhere to point your camera. Settle in for a traditional lunch here, with homemade bread and olive oil, a Berber tagine and Moroccan salad.
