Things to do in Pizzo

Pizzo, also known as Pizzo Calabro, is a seaside town in Calabria. Located on a cliff, the town is a touristic destination for people who want to relax and enjoy the white beaches and discover the Calabrian lifestyle.

The main attraction of the city is the Church of Piedigrotta, built into a cave and facing the sea. This amazing church was built in the seventeenth century by some sailors who wanted to express their gratitude for having survived a storm. The Murat castle is another historical attraction. The castle was the prison of King of Naples Joachim Murat, brother-in-law of Napoleon. Also, do not miss the typical dessert of the town, the Tartufo, an ice cream ball filled with chocolate or fruit cream.
