You're in for an authentic taste of Cyprus on this adults-only tour through the Troodos Mountains, where food is a cornerstone of the local culture. You'll eat your way from village to village - visiting Laneia, Agros and the mountain village of Kyperounda to taste its wines. Few outsiders make it to these foothill villages, where ancient cultural traditions are an integral part of everyday life.
Heading out of Paphos, the journey begins in Laneia with a short, guided tour of the village where you'll see the warm Cypriot greeting of kopiaste – ‘come join us' – in action all around the flower-scented, photogenic, cobbled streets. Next, it's on to Agros to taste its famous homemade spoon sweets, made from fruit preserved in syrup and rosewater. You'll even get an insight into how the rosewater is made at a little factory where you can also take some home if you're a fan.
You'll drive north to the largest of these mountain villages, Kyperounda, where you'll tuck into a typical Cypriot lunch in a traditional taverna, before finishing the day at a winery in Constantinou. At this winery in the heart of the Troodos Mountains, you'll learn about the art of wine-making and sip your way through a tasting session.
