Why not visit an extra country during your holiday? Until not so long ago, it was impossible to visit Albania because of a strict communistic regime. It was even called the “North Korea” of Europe. However, nowadays, the country is liberated, and you'll have the opportunity to see the differences between the neighbours, North Macedonia and Albania. So, hop on, and trace the visible remains of the dictatorship that ruled Albania.
While making a whole lap around Lake Ohrid, be aware of how the colors of the water change. By bus or minivan, you'll be brought to the city of Pogradec, where you'll start with a coffee break. From here on, you'll visit the local marketplace, the town park, the boulevard, and statues. While walking, your guide will provide cultural explanations of the differences between Macedonian and Albanian cultures.
Afterwards, you'll further travel into Albania and visit Lin to experience the true Albanian local way of living. Active yourself with a short walk in this ancient village and take the (optional) opportunity to walk to the ancient Roman basilica and enjoy the astonishing view around it. On the way back to Ohrid, the tour stops at the bunkers of Enver Hoxha, where you can take memorable pictures.
