The inside story
Lisbon airport is also known as Lisbon Portela Airport, is the main international airport in Portugal located approximately 5 miles of the Portuguese capital.
Due to the increase in passenger traffic, Lisbon Airport has encountered several recent changes and is still expanding. New boarding gates, air bridges and, parking positions were put in place.
The airport has 16 jetways in 2 terminals. Terminal 1 is the main building and features large areas with shops and service facilities. It offers 2 check-in halls and is equipped with restaurants, duty-free shops, left luggage, baby care facilities, and meeting rooms. Most of the airlines depart from Terminal 1. Terminal 2 is the smaller and newer of the two terminals, used by low-cost airlines. It provides standard facilities, a few shops, and service counters. You can reach Terminal 2 using the free airport shuttle service from Terminal 1.
The strategic location of the airport makes it easy to reach the city center by car, taxi, or shuttle bus in approximately 20 minutes. Many passengers book shared or private transfers to avoid long taxi lines. Find here all the transfer options and choose the most suitable for you!
