Ko Lanta district is a treasure yet to be fully uncovered. Two islands connected by a singular bridge, mangrove forests, sandy beaches and a unique culture are just some of the highlights of this tour. You'll explore the islands in a longtail boat, visit Lanta old town and see an authentic Sea Gypsy village.
The adventure kicks off with a boat trip to the island of Natammu, where you'll head to a garden centre for a chance to sample a few local snacks alongside freshly brewed herbal tea. From here, it's on to a rubber plantation. See how the sticky stuff's made while you hear about the history of rubber from some of the folks who know it best.
In the afternoon, you'll hop back on the boat and cruise around the mangrove forests of Tung Yee Peng. You'll see the strange beauty of trees that grow half underwater and half above before dining at a nearby restaurant for lunch.
The afternoon is spent getting to know local life. First up is a stop at a nearby fishing village, followed by a trip to Lanta's old town and temple. You'll wander round streets of historic wood buildings – make sure to see the houses on stilts – and head to the town's red-and-gold-tinted temple.
