The structure itself is a sight to behold! Designed by Colin Fournier and Sir Peter Cook in the biomorphic architecture style, its exterior is made of iridescent blue acrylic panels that double as photovoltaic panels. On the eastern side of the building, a light and media facade (BIX) is illuminated with 946 fluorescent lamps serving both artists and curators in communicating with the outdoor urban space. Due to its modern shape contrasting with the surroundings it is locally known as the 'friendly alien'.
Journey through galleries and hallways spread across two floors focusing on regional and international contemporary art with themes such as global trends, permanent and changing temporary exhibitions.
