There's no better way to go full Canarian than to adopt the local name for a bus – guagua. And there's no better way to discover Las Palmas than with this hop-on, hop-off bus with audio commentary. Your ticket is valid for 24 hours, giving you plenty of time to explore the largest city in the islands.
You'll be able to hop on the open-top double-decker guagua at any one of the 11 stops along the sightseeing route and hop off whenever you want to explore a specific area or attraction. There's a stop at the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium, which is beautifully located on the seafront and looks like a cross between a mosque and a lighthouse. It's also handy for the nearby Las Arenas shopping centre and Las Canteras beach.
There are two stops at Vegueta, the historic old town. Here, you can explore the winding streets of pastel-coloured houses with overhanging wooden balconies. All seem to lead to the cathedral – which was built with dark volcanic rocks – and the home of Christopher Columbus.
