Experience one of the world's most vibrant cities on this whirlwind tour of Mumbai. Calling by all the city's top monuments, you'll also visit the sobering Dharavi slum – the largest in Asia. And travelling by plane means you have even more time to explore before heading back by train.
Catching a plane from Goa to Mumbai, you'll head straight out to explore the city. First, you'll marvel at the hundreds of animal-shaped hedges and colourful flower arrangements in the Hanging Gardens. Then swinging by the Thieves' Market, you can pick up everything from incense sticks to sari silks before heading on to the iconic Gateway of India monument.
The eye-opener of the tour though is in Dharavi – inspiration for the hit-movie ‘Slumdog Millionaire'. The largest slum in Asia, it's home to over a million people. Walking through shack-lined lanes with your guide, you'll also visit Dhobi Gat – the biggest open-air laundromat in the world and workplace of many slum-dwellers. After a moving visit, you'll retreat to a hotel for a bit of rest, relaxation and a bite to eat, before catching the night-train back to Goa.
