Prepare to experience the splendor of Litchfield National Park, as you're picked up from your Darwin accommodation and travel south along the Stuart Highway towards the park. As you enter the park, you will get your first glimpse of the magnetic Litchfield termite mounds. Throughout the day, the guides will share their knowledge about the termite’s.
In the morning, you will also visit Wangi Falls. This will be your first opportunity to swim, if possible, in the crisp, clean territory waters. Take a dip in the tranquil plunge pool below the face of the falls, or follow the 800m loop walk through the surrounding monsoon forest. At lunchtime, you'll have a freshly prepared picnic then you'll move through native bushland en route to Florence Falls, another scenic waterfall with a plunge pool below.
After some more guided bushwalking, the cascading waters of Buley Rockhole offer yet another chance for a cooling dip. The final activity for the day will be a private Crocodile Cruise on the vast Adelaide River. Wildlife expert and skipper, Pat, is passionate about these magnificent creatures and is always keen to share his knowledge and experience with visitors. This is the ideal way to see the local animals in their natural habitat.
You will head back to Darwin having experienced some of the Territory’s most beautiful and serene spots and you might even have glimpsed some of its unique wildlife!
