Passing through the typical Dutch landscape you’ll drive in about one hour and a half to the Dutch Venice, Giethoorn. In this picturesque town you’ll find out how the Dutch people can live with the water and surrounded by canals. In Giethoorn cars are not allowed and little has changed in the city over the centuries. You will enjoy this wonderfully preserved town walking and by boat. There are many types of boats that are used for transport on the canals, gondolas, punters and flatbottom boats for example. Your included one hour boat tour passes the skillfully restored farm houses.
After the boat ride you will have some free time for lunch and be able to do some exploring on your own. Your guide can give you some tips on what to see and where to eat. After lunch you’ll continue to an impressive 20 kilometer long dike in the Ijsselmeer, one of the largest lakes in Western Europe. You’ll see water and reclaimed land all around you, make sure to bring your camera to capture these landscapes.
