This tour is dedicated to the search for dolphins. Thanks to the presence on board of a group of researchers, the chance of spotting dolphins is estimated at 80%, a very high probability for such elusive animals.
During the navigation, the researchers will tell you all the curiosities about the life of these animals. You'll know about the scientific discoveries about the local dolphin population that researchers have been following since 2012. Having sighted the dolphins, the researchers will approach respecting the Code of Conduct HQWW® (High-Quality Whale Watching) they adopted to minimize the risk of any disturbance due to boat presence.
During the sighting, the researchers will collect data and the behavior of the dolphins will be explained. You will be able to listen to the sounds they use to communicate, thanks to the recordings made during bioacoustic studies. Thanks to the photo-identification technique, researchers can recognize dolphins by their dorsal fin and tell you their names, how old they are and other curiosities about their life.
During the excursion, you will admire one of the most beautiful coasts of Sardinia. You will stop in the Marine Protected Area of Capo Caccia - Isola Piana to discover the magnificent underwater world and its inhabitants with guided snorkeling. Do not have much experience with snorkeling? The researchers will accompany you and will give you guidance in the water.
