See Madeira's knockout natural sights with this full day 4x4 tour. You'll come across charming villages, clifftop views and magical laurel forests as you venture through the rugged and wild west of the island.
Kick things off with spectacular coastal views from the glass Skywalk on the cliffs of Cabo Girão – among the highest in the world. Then traverse the 1,500m-high Paul da Serra plateau, en route to the lush laurel forest – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – which is home to many endemic species of fauna.
Next comes the volcanic rook pools of Porto Moniz, where you can stop for a swim if the weather is good, before making tracks for some panoramic views of the north coast. Last but not least, you'll travel along the Encumeada Pass where the ocean froths on both sides, and stop for a ‘poncha' drink tasting.
