As the name suggests, lobster is the word at LobStar – though wow runs it a close second. LobStar is located on the seafront of Santa Maria in the very south of Sal. The restaurant is in a beautiful, rustic stone hut at the foot of the pier where fishermen daily land their catch. The chefs source their seafood from here – so it's a case of straight off the boat and on to your plate.
Starters include Catalan-style spiny lobster or marinated amberjack carpaccio. The first course is spiny lobster risotto while the main is the famous Cape Verdean grilled spiny lobster. For dessert, there's lemon and ginger ice cream. You'll enjoy ocean views from your table, with colourful fishing boats resting on the strand and floating in the sea adding a marine touch to your experience.
