Aschaffenburg Walking Tour and Christmas Market

Aschaffenburg is a historic city with plenty of Bavarian charm. After you’ve met your tour guide at the ship, you’ll set off on a walking tour through the narrow, cobbled streets of Aschaffenburg’s old town. You’ll pass by two of the town’s oldest churches, one of which dates all the way back to the 10th century. Visit the Pompejanum – a hilltop Roman villa with views over the town, and Johannisburg Castle – one of the most important buildings of the German Renaissance. The final stop on the tour is the Christmas market in Castle Square – you’ll have some free time here before the walk back to the ship. It’s a picturesque market, decked with fir garlands and twinkling lights, with the castle as the backdrop. A life-size wooden nativity scene sits in the centre.
