Once the grand residence of the Dukes of Mecklenburg, the castle now houses the Mecklenburg State Parliament. The dazzling Throne Room is a show-stopper, adorned with golden decor and grand chandeliers. Keep an eye out for the friendly ghost Petermännchen too – they say he's hidden in paintings and statues around the castle. Outside, you can enjoy walking around the gardens and another highlight is the floating meadow. In summer, the castle hosts open-air concerts so keep an eye out before your visit.
