The heart of "36", as the district is still called after its former postcode, is Oranienstrasse with its many legendary clubs and pubs. The walk, partly along the former course of the wall, takes you back to the 70s / 80s: Georg von Rauch House, Bethanien, Mariannenplatz - the protest band sang "Ton Steine Scherben" about it and was at the forefront of the squatting.
