Mykonos – ‘the island of the winds' – features quaint cobblestone towns, slices of golden beaches and sacred spots, all of which you'll explore on this half-day excursion. You'll tour the winding alleys of Mykonos town, visit Panagia Tourliani monastery and enjoy some free time on Kalafati beach.
You'll get into the groove straight away with a walking tour of Mykonos town – locally known as Chora. It's a warren of blue-balconied whitewashed houses that lead towards the pretty harbour. Nearby is the gorgeous Little Venice area, where balconies hang right over the sea. Next, you'll pinpoint the island's famous windmills, and, if you're lucky, you'll get to say hello to Petros, a great white pelican who has become the mascot of Mykonos.
We'll then hop on a bus and venture out to the village of Ano Mera in the heart of the island. You'll drop into its Panagia Tourliani monastery, which has a museum showcasing icons from the Byzantine Renaissance periods. Afterwards, travel to Kalafati Beach, where there'll be some free time to relax on the sands before returning to Mykonos town.
