With ancient Roman architecture, whitewashed Berber villages and a capital city steeped in history, you'll find that Djerba has much more to offer than just sand and sun. Highlights of this morning tour include the ancient dam, Guellala and Houmt Souk.
First, we visit the ancient Roman causeway - a low rock bridge dating back 2,000 years and once 6km long, connecting Djerba to the coast. Continue to Guellala where you will visit the museum and then have free time to explore the famous pottery centre and buy clay pots and bowls.
Then, head to the island's capital. Stroll through the labyrinthine streets and soak up the atmosphere at the local markets of Houmt Souk. Our last stop is Dar Jilani. This den of creativity is the home and workshop of local artist M. Jilani.
